Cultivating Joy
I was honored to be a part of this sacred project along with 37 extraordinary female authors. We share our intimate stories of healing and transformation. These are women who know what it means to live in joy, every day—even in the midst of life’s trials and tribulations.
My story, the Amazing Grace of God, shares a time in my life, when I had already successful healed from a life crippling episode of Crohn's Disease. I was a single mother with two young children in elementary school. What should have been a wonderful time, turned into a living nightmare when the sale of my home fell through the day of closing. I had moved my family the day before, into a townhome I was scheduled to purchase right after the sale. This was at the request of the buyers.
I suddenly found myself overwhelmed, and unable to control this very important life event. The buyers didn't show up. My home was not being sold. I was not able to buy my townhome. School was scheduled to start in 10 days. We had moved 35 miles across the cities into a new school district. Joy had left my life and my heart was overcome with fear and sadness.
My story shares my struggles to find hope and have the stamina to take care of both homes, support my young children in this move to a new school, and work to maintain a healthy balance for my newly healed body.
It shares that it was only after I surrendered all my fears and worries to the light of God, was I able to find peace and clarity. It took a while, but eventually there was a new buyer for our much loved home.
I share this in hopes you too find peace and clarity to help you stay motivated and inspired to live life with joy even among the trials and tribulations of life.
